Teddy Cadieux is a writer originally from Boston. He prides himself on sending queer characters to places they’re not usually allowed to go and faithfully reporting the result.

Teddy graduated in December 2020 from Emerson College with his bachelor’s degree in Visual and Media Arts Production. He was hand-selected to participate in an exclusive screenwriting incubator program during college and developed a feature in 30 days during the summer of 2019. Ever since, he’s hit the ground running to get his foot in the door and scripts on the table. Teddy has a background in modern queer philosophy and comedy writing, and loves to play mad-scientist & stitch the two together - even if it seems like they don’t mix.

TV Writing

For Fun & Profit

I write award-winning half-hour comedies and hour-long dramas and everything in between. My past projects include Official Selection of the LGBTQ Unbordered Film Festival, Superdads, a Stranger Things spec script that received high praise and award from the Fan Fiction Film & Writing Festival, and a feature titled Fortunate Son which won a pitch contest from the Emerson College Student Screenwriting Organization.

Copywriting

Putting Words in Your Mouth

I have 2 years’ experience writing social media copy and professional internal/external copy for a major Hollywood management company! I turned around the company’s dated social media presence and helped them engage with more of their Twitter audience.

Features

In It For The Long Haul

When I’m writing more long-form material, I love to focus on specialty genres and settings that can be easily stylized. Whether it’s a Western, a Vietnam War-era period piece, or a murder mystery, I love to dig into research and learn about genres in order to better turn them inside out. When I dive into a universe like the ones in my features, it’s a chance to tell a vibrant story that’s based in real human emotions but embellished with fanciful style.

Sketch Comedy

Commit to the Bit

Taking inspiration from the comedy stylings of Casey Frey, Meg Stalter, and other short-form, bit-forward comedians, I aim to write comedy that resonates with young people. Gen-Z humor is such a unique flavor and it requires a subtle hand to be successful. My comedic style includes shedding the traditional sketch format in favor of a more streamlined, joke-heavy piece.
